How To Bid

Official Great American Home Sale Rules


Bidding for The Great American Home Sale begins on January 27, 2012, at 8:00 a.m., and ends on Monday, February 6, 2012, at 5:00 p.m.

To participate, bidders must be legal U.S. residents, be 18 years or older at the time of the bidding, and be pre-qualified to purchase the Great American Home.

Potential bidders are asked not to bid unless they intend to complete the purchase of the advertised real estate, subject to customary diligence and contingencies.

Bidding will take place online only; no other form of bid will be accepted.

To get started:

  1. You must be pre-qualified in order to bid on the Great American Home at O'Neal Village. Once you are pre-qualified, you will receive an email with a special code that will allow you to place your bid(s) for the home. This is required in order to place a bid.

    If you prefer to use the lender of your choice to get pre-qualified, you will need to send us your prequalification letter by email no later than 4:00 p.m. on February 6, 2012, so that we can send you a bidding code.

  2. Once you receive your bid code from The Palmetto Bank, click here to send us an email confirming the bid code.

  3. If you have not previously bid on bidongreenville.com, you will also need to complete the registration form and then respond to a confirmation email to activate your account.

    We recommend taking care of this step as early as possible and verifying that the account is active and accessible prior to the start of bidding.

  4. Then log in and BID, BID, BID!

    Bidding increments are a minimum of $1,000.

After the bidding ends:

Immediately upon the close of bidding, the winning bidder will receive a confirmation email with instructions to complete the purchase transaction.

The winning bidder will have 24 hours from the confirmation email to contact the builder and make the down payment. If contact and payment is not made by the deadline, the offer is forfeited by the winning bidder and the next highest bidder will be offered the product.

Winning bidder will have 48 hours to provide proof of financing. If proof of financing is not made by the deadline, the offer is forfeited by the winning bidder and the next highest bidder will be offered the product.

Closing on the home must occur prior to March 30, 2012.
